2019 Christmas Card

Updated: Dec 17, 2019

Hello everyone!

2019 was another great year - here's everything you need to know about what I did:

Work

  • It was my second year as the Buncombe/Haywood County Volunteer Coordinator for Four Seasons (Basically H.R. for volunteers)

  • Four Seasons - Health care for those with seriousness illness, especially specializing in hospice and end-of-life care

  • Work highlight of the year will probably always be the weekend camp for Compass (our grief program for children and teenagers)

  • Special thanks to the Employee & Volunteer Solutions team for being an incredible team of people to work with

Church

  • Continued serving on the set up and tear down team. The Gathering Church is a portable church so we have to put everything together in the morning and pack it all back up in the trailers after our services.

  • In Gather Students, our student ministry (6th-12th grade), I am a student life group leader and help out with the games we do every week. "Jeremy Glidden keeps leadership on track, scheduled, and is consistently inventing games and activities to keep us busy and entertained." (via Instagram @gatherstudents)

  • Life group leader for "Co-Ed Fitness" (spring), and "Open Gym and Basketball" (fall)

Best of 2019

  • NY Trip for 4th of July. Due to the memorial service for grandpa Barney Glidden, I was able to see all of my family that week as well as attend the Conesus Lake Ring of Fire. Memorial Service was fantastic, and spending 4th of July with all the extended family that had gathered to honor grandpa made it a perfect trip up.

  • Had probably the best birthday party that's ever been thrown for me as an adult. My thanks to Chelsie and Robbie Denson for making my 25th birthday really special.

Misc.

  • F3 Asheville - men's fitness group that meets in the morning before work for peer-led workouts

  • Dog Sitting - I took on a lot of dog sitting for church friends throughout the year. I guarantee my clients that their dogs are loved, their food doesn't go bad, and their Netflix doesn't get rusty. Shout out to Lucy, Terra, Luna, Maggie, Peak, Rue, Java, Brodie, Santos, Boone, Bernie, Sadie, and Grits for being good boys/girls.

  • Flag Football - Put together one flag football event for our Open Gym life group and had 40+ people in attendance with about 20 playing the game. Will be trying to set up a monthly flag football life group in spring 2020.

Thank you to everyone who supported me this year and made 2019 a great one. For those of you who didn't, I had a great year anyway. Sorry to friends/family who I haven't been able to visit or see in awhile - the benefits of living down south in Asheville come with the sacrifices of not being as close. Hoping that 2019 was as great for you as it was fun for me. Looking forward to 2020! Merry Christmas!
